NBC Universal has relaunched its Digital Studio, Omnicom Media Group Digital has partnered with the studio to create branded content for multi-platform distribution.
The newly-formed NBC Universal Digital Studio will develop online programming with advertisers’ input incorporated throughout the process - including aspects of script writing and casting, writes MarketingVox.
Brands like Acura, Microsoft, UPS and Intel signed on to work with the new creative unit. A show featuring all four brands, entitled Gemini Division, is currently in production. Woke Up Dead is the next show planned by the studio. Currently in preproduction, it is about a college student who turns into a zombie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Shows created by NBCUDS will likely appear on sites like Hulu, which is part-owned by NBCU. In some cases, certain shows may also enjoy TV airtime. The webisodes will also tie in with destination sites, online games, character blogs and mobile components, MediaPost adds.
