The Home Depot has named a new chief marketing officer, six months after Roger Adams left the position. Frank Bifulco, the new senior vp and CMO, has worked in the packaged goods and retail arenas for 30 years.
Most recently, Bifulco served as president and chief customer officer at Hasbro North America. He began his career with Procter & Gamble, and was the senior vp of marketing for Coca-Cola North America from 1994 to 2000.
He will have full responsibility for the strategic marketing vision of The Home Depot along with category marketing and brand development, according to the company. He begins on April 28. John Ross, who served as the interim head of the company’s marketing department while performing his regular duties, will remain in his role of vice president, advertising.
The Home Depot’s sales dropped 2 percent to $77.3 billion for 2007, while profits plummeted 24 percent to $4.4 billion, writes Brandweek.
