'Intervention' Returns Following Oxygen network’s rebrand, A&E is also getting a new logo and theme line: Real Life. Drama. The campaign surrounding the new branding - which is meant to express more honest and “emotionally intense” TV - will launch on Memorial Day.
The campaign will run on local and national television, as well as online, in print in major publications, and outdoor in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit and Chicago, writes MediaPost. A&E has also announced its new shows for the coming months, which include a limited series produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, The Andromeda Strain and new scripted series The Cleaner.
In all, the network announced eight returning shows (including Intervention, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and Paranormal State, among others) and three new series: The Squad is about a maximum security prison in California, which houses the worst criminals in the country; Psychic Kids is self-explanatory; and Jacked! covers a high-tech New Jersey government group that deals with car thieves.
A&E finished fourth place among adults 25-54 and fifth among adults 18-49 in the most recent quarter, according to the network, which further claims it has the most original programming of any top-five cable network. It plans to increase original programming by 37 percent by the third quarter of 2008.
