Clear Channel Airports has signed with Reactrix to sell and license Reactrix’s StepScape displays in airports.
Reactrix projects digital images onto floors and walls; passersby can then interact with the displays via their own gestures, which are tracked by motion sensors.
Branded displays can integrate ad content into the experiences, which can include puzzles, games and paint programs, writes MediaPost.
Clear Channel has parternships with most major airports in the country, including Chicago O’Hare, Boston Logan, Dallas-Fort Worth Intl., Philadelphia Intl., Phoenix Sky Harbor and San Francisco Intl.
Reactrix said in March that it hopes to soon include interactive commercial transactions in the capabilities of its digital displays.
The company’s CEO, Mike Robero, imagines a “convergence between media and commerce” in out-of-home digital advertising, so that the commercial interactions will be blended seamlessly into the entertaining experience.
