Couldn't run withAmerican Idol, Moment of Truth, Hell’s Kitchen, House and Bones will all return to Fox next season, along with 24, which lost its slot this year because of the writers strike.
The top-rated network will also air Fringe, a science-fiction drama from J.J. Abrams of Lost, along with The Inn, a comedy about life at a luxury hotel, according to The New York Times. ‘Til Death and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will also return.
Back to You, the Kelsey Grammer comedy, didn’t make the cut. Nor did Anchorwoman, Nashville, New Amsterdam and The Return of Jezebel James.
In midseason, the network plans to introduce two animated series: a spinoff of Family Guy, and one - known variously as Sit Down and Shut Up and Class Dismissed - about the staff at a high school in a fishing town.
Also at midseason will come Dollhouse - from Joss Wheedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame - about a team of criminal minds that gives new identities to unwitting victims.
Fox was the only network this past season to add viewers in the 18-49 demo. While next year Fox won’t have the Super Bowl (NBC gets the game, and plans to charge $3 million per :30 spot), which drew record numbers, it will pull viewers for the hit drama 24, back in midseason.
