Arbitron Signs LevelVision as OOH Video Client

Arbitron has signed another client for Arbitron Custom Research, its out-of-home measurement business. LevelVision, operator of more than 300 screens in college bookstores, has signed the group to measure student engagement across its College Bookstore Network, writes MediaPost.

LevelVision is hoping to provide advertisers with more detailed data about the reach and influence of their ads.

KidCare TV, an out-of-home video network in pediatricians’ waiting rooms, recently signed with Arbitron to measure viewer response to its network.

Measurement of out-of-home video nets and out-of-home television viewing have become a hot topic. Nielsen and Integrated Media Measurement Inc. have joined to release out-of-home TV ratings, with their first results announced last week. The two plan to launch a local service in six markets - with 500 panel members carrying a mobile phone that transmits signals back to IMMI - later this year.

Meanwhile, CNN has asked Integrated Media Measurement Inc. for an analysis of out-of-home ad exposure for 10 clients of OMD and PHD in order to better understand viewership in bars, dorm rooms, gyms and other out-of-home venues.

IMMI will begin measuring CNN’s out-of-home exposure in Q4. Data will be processed in early 2009.
