Mike LaFavore of Meredith Publishing Group told president Jack Griffin he plans to leave his role as Editorial Director. He has held the position since 2005.
In an interview with Mediaweek, LaFavore confessed, “I’m not having as much fun as I’d liked.” He expressed his desire to return to actual editorial work, adding, “Editorial director of a company is a tough job.”
He reportedly also hopes to work for Barack Obama’s Presidential election campaign.
The soon-to-be ex-Editorial Director told Griffin he would wait to leave until June 30, the end of the fiscal quarter.
LaFavore served as founding editor of Men’s Health. He was also editor for TV Guide.
