Top Magazine Sites’ Video Use Doubles, Uptake of other Web Features Slow

The proportion of leading US magazines (the top 50 by circulation) that offer online video has nearly doubled in the past year - from 34 percent in 2006 to 60 percent in 2007 - but the adoption of other Web 2.0 features has been slower, according to research from the Bivings Group.

BrandIntel today released the 2007 TV Landscape report highlighting the upcoming fall network television shows currently generating the highest online consumer discussion and sentiment.

The BrandIntel report found ABC to hold both the top two spots for highly anticipated shows, with Pushing Daisies and Private Practice as the leaders in consumer sentiment.

Synovate: 8% of Americans Pen Blogs

Readers’ loyalty to specific blogs is relatively high, with 46 percent of blog readers saying they visit the same blogs regularly, according to a survey from Synovate (via WebProNews). Eight percent of Americans now have their own blog, a surprisingly large number considering the fact that just a few years ago, most didn’t even know what a blog was.

YouTube Users: Ads May Be OK, but Change Comments Back

YouTube introduced ads on some of its videos yesterday and, not surprisingly, response from the blogosphere and the site’s community has been mixed. “I’m unsubscribing from anyone who has ads in their videos, and if everyone has ads, then I’ll just find a site that doesn’t,” read a post on YouTube’s official blog (via Adweek).
