10 Nations Where Facebook Tops Internet Use
24/7 Wall St. looked at the ten countries in which Facebook has tremendous dominance of the online market; in order to break into top ranks of this list, more than 86% of internet users have to be on Facebook. Their review shows users of other social networking sites as well as internet penetration into the country overall. Most are concentrated in Latin America or Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines and Indonesia. There is no obvious explanation for this except that some of these markets are among the first where Facebook introduced its service. In other examples, in Israel, besides having the second highest rate of Facebook usage among Internet users, Israelis spend the second most amount of time on social networking sites, behind only Russia. Israel’s social network users spend an average of 9.2 hours on social network sites a month.
