CC’s IHeartRadio Snares No. 2 Spot in Blackberry App World

Clear Channel’s IHeartRadio app has been downloaded by BlackBerry users 257,756 times since it launched on April 1, making it the No. 2 BlackBerry App World app overall and the No. 1 media app.

Clear Channel says its downloads have surpassed Pandora, CBS, AOL, Viacom, Yahoo, the New York Times, MySpace, and even Facebook.

People are listening to IHeartRadio via BlackBerries an average of 73 minutes per week so far, tracking with what the company is seeing via the iPhone/iPod touch, where user time is growing 13% per week. The app is the third most popular music app at the Apple App Store, just behind Pandora and Shazam. It generated 1 million downloads as of March, writes MediaPost.

IHeartRadio gives web users on-demand streaming audio from 150 Clear Channel radio stations, delivered via cell or Wi-Fi.
