Published on January 13, 2009 | Email this article

President Bush will address the American people for the last time on prime time TV on Thursday night.

The address will be his last public appearance before handing over the reins of the country to President-elect Barack Obama at the inauguration on Jan. 20, writes Variety.

Press secretary Dana Perino said (via the Washington Times) that the president will defend his record. He will also look forward to what he sees as the greatest challenges facing the country, and what it will take to meet them.

The address will delay shows in the East Coast market including ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, NBC’s The Office and CBS’s CSI.
