Showtime is launching an extensive integrated campaign for its new original series, United States of Tara, starring Academy Award nominated actress Toni Collette as a wife and mother suffering from multiple personality disorder.

The network is screening the first two half-hour episodes of the show - which was executive produced by Steven Spielberg - at theaters in 25 markets, according to MediaPost.

The first episode of Tara will also be available for free on more than 100 websites, including CBS’s TV.com, YouTube, Blockbuster.com, CinemaNow and Facebook. Mobile phone services including VCast Mobile TV and AT&T Mobile TV will also carry the show, as well as Showtime sister series The L Word and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Showtime officials say it is one of the largest distribution campaigns ever done to launch a new original series, writes UPI.

The United States of Tara premieres Jan. 18 at 9pm.
