On January 18, the USPS rate changes announced last fall will go into effect for Express Mail, Priority Mail, Parcel Select, Parcel Return Service, Global Express Guaranteed, Express Mail International, Priority Mail International, and M-Bags.

They include rate hikes ranging from 3.9% for priority mail to 8.5% for some international services, writes BtoB.

The price for express mail is jumping 5.7%, while parcel return service is going up 5.3%. Overall, shipping prices are going up an average of 5%.

The move to January price changes for shipping services is consistent with industry standards, according to the USPS website.
