‘Time’ Takes Top Magazine Slot for College Students

Published on December 01, 2008 | Email this article

Time magazine ousted Cosmo as the top magazine for college students in this year’s Anderson Analytics fall survey.

Time also jumped past People, which was last year’s No. 2, writes Ad Age. A Time spokesperson said the magazine did not run any particular marketing campaigns geared toward younger readers. The magazine did notice, however, that its website skewed younger throughout the election cycle.

CNN.com made the Anderson Analytics top 10 website list for the first time, while Perez Hilton and CollegeHumor disappeared from the list.

The more serious tone of the responses can be attributed to president-elect Barack Obama and his campaign, which snared the attention of college students, says Tom Anderson, managing partner of Anderson Analytics.
