OOH Golf Net Launches in 100 Retail Spots

A new digital out-of-home network to reach golfers is launching to 100 retail locations in the next two months. The network will be available in Dunham’s Sporting Goods, Golf Etc., Golf USA, Pro Golf, and ParMasters, among others.

The Golf Network hopes to be in more than 400 locations by early 2009, and 1,000 by 2010

        The Sports Retail Networks, creator of The Golf Network, just closed its     Series A round of funding, which is backing the rollout. “We have invested time to test, enhance and     fine tune our business model significantly beyond what we launched at     the PGA Merchandise Show three years ago,”      says Mark Biestman, co-founder and president.

The network delivers content and advertising over the internet to large, flat screens in high-traffic areas within stores. Content is mostly self-produced, but the network is seeking content partners, as well.
