Nearly two-thirds of college students stream video and TV shows online, and buy downloads from iTunes, according to Alloy Media and Marketing‘s 2008 College Explorer survey.

Laptops are replacing desktops as the computer of choice, with laptop ownership rising from 63 percent to 70 percent and desktop ownership falling from 59 percent to 53 percent, per the survey (via MediaPost).

TV ownership fell slightly, from 82 percent to 79 percent, which may indicate that TV is losing out to computers in terms of personal entertainment centers.

Girls are more likely than boys to post photos on social networks like Facebook and MySpace; boys are more likely to post videos.
