Warner Bros. Signs Distribution Deal w/Joost, Sling Media, Veoh

Warner Bros. has signed distribution agreements with Dailymotion, Joost, Sling Media, TiVo and Veoh Networks to launch branded channels that will include TheWB.com and KidsWB.com, along with other series from the Warner Bros collection.

The channels will launch in mid-September, providing Warner Bros.‘s branded destinations with the added reach of the distribution partners’ target audiences. The move will also give consumers greater access to the studio’s programming. The channels will offer full-length eps of programming from the WB network, Kids’ WB and the Warner Bros. collection.
The new partners join AOL and Comcast’s Fancast and VOD platforms, which also have Warner Bros. branded channels, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Facebook has an application for TheWB.com, as well.
“These new premium partnerships fit our overall digital distribution strategy by providing users the opportunity to access our content where and when they choose,” said Rosenblum. “These partnerships will further the reach of the high-quality content we are creating to fuel our branded, ad-supported niche destinations which will benefit both the user and the advertiser.”

The WB.com was announced in April. It is a second life for the now-defunct WB television network, and is targeted at the 16-34 demo. The site shows old programs from the channel, including Gilmore Girls and Smallville, along with productions that aired on other networks, including Friends, The O.C. and Veronica Mars.
