‘Idol’ Finale Actually Up Slightly in Total Viewers

Tuesday night’s finale of American Idol averaged an 11 rating/29 share, down slightly from last year’s 11.1 in the 18-49 demo.

30.6 million viewers saw the finale, according to Nielsen (via Media Life), a slight increase over the 29.5 million who watch last year’s finale.

This season’s debut pulled 33.4 million viewers, 4 million viewers shy of last season’s opener.
