Wal-Mart Teams with Tween Idol for Branded Apparel, Accessories

Published on January 31, 2008 | Email this article

Wal-Mart has inked a deal with Disney Consumer Products to offer Hannah Montana-branded products in its stores.

More than 140 tween-targeted items, including clothing and accessories, will be sold in “Hannah Montana Shops” in 750 Wal-Mart stores, according to Brandweek.

An in-theater and POP marketing campaign will tout Wal-Mart as Hannah Montana headquarters. Ads will run before screenings of Disney’s theatrical release, Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Movie.

Wal-Mart stores will also offer an “all access pass” at the screenings of the movie. The pass will provide a secret code that will allow users to download a free Hannah Montana music video. The Hannah Montana 2 Non-Stop Dance Party CD, sold at Wal-Mart stores, also contains an additional track, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.
