Ads on Airplane Doors Reach Boarding Passengers

Published on November 26, 2007 | Email this article

Beginning over the Thanksgiving holiday, a new program from InterAir Media allows advertisers to place their logos on the exteriors of airplanes near the doors. Passengers see the logo as they board.

Advertisers can have their logos placed on Skybus aircrafts, along with an information card about the brand placed in the seatback pockets on the plane, writes Media Life. The sponsor is also mentioned during the takeoff and arrival message announced by the plane’s crew.

Fifteen percent of the fee goes to worthy causes - half to disaster relief and half to alternative energy programs.

The program is available in the markets served by Skybus, including New York, Boston, Hartford, Richmond, Ft. Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Gulfport-Biloxi, Chattanooga, Milwaukee, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Columbus, Greensboro, Vancouver and Kansas City. Skybus flies 2.2 million passengers annually, according to InterAir.
