JC Decaux Helps Paris Get Mobile (on Two Wheels)

Published on July 18, 2007 | Email this article

JC Decaux, the world’s second largest outdoor advertiser, has financed a project in Paris that will see 20,000 bicycles become available for rent to Parisians for transportation or pleasure.

So far, 750 bicycle stations have been set up in the city, and a total of about 10,648 three-speed bikes, complete with electronic locks, are available to be rented, writes the Austin American Statesman.

The campaign is designed to reduce the number of cars in the streets of the city. Bicycles can be rented for short-term use, and returned to any one of the bicycle stations.
