Silverman, Graboff Made Co-Chairman at NBC

Published on May 30, 2007 | Email this article

Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff have been appointed as co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and NBC Universal Television Studio. The two effectively replace Kevin Reilly who will be leaving the network - but they will have added responsibilities and authority.

NBC U president and CEO Jeff Zucker has said that the hiring of Silverman had nothing to do with any dissatisfaction on the part of the network over the fall schedule, but rather was done because Silverman became available and Zucker felt he had to bring him on board, writes MediaPost.

Zucker said that Reilly’s shows have been “incredibly well received” by Madison Avenue, and that his departure will not negatively impact agency and advertiser views of the new shows for the upcoming season.

Some insiders say Reilly was fired, while others say that he quit rather than report to Silverman. Zucker wouldn’t comment on Reilly’s departure.
