Comedy Central Producing Five New Pilots

Published on May 30, 2007 | Email this article

Comedy Central plans to produce five pilots for the upcoming season, including a Lewis Black show set in a courtroom, called Root of All Evil.

Other pilots are a sketch series hosted by Michael Ian Black, an animated show from Larry the Cable Guy, a half-hour bank robbery hostage comedy, and a short-form comedy called Night Writer from T. Sean Shannon, a former Saturday Night Live head writer, according to Mediaweek.

Comedy Central enjoyed a stellar first quarter, averaging 1.07 million viewers in prime time, thanks in large part to the first season of The Sarah Silverman Program.
