CNN, Internet Broadcasting Get Communal with Content

Published on May 23, 2007 | Email this article

News network CNN has just signed a content sharing deal with Internet Broadcasting, which is a powerhouse for local TV station websites, reports The Wall Street Journal (via MarketingVOX).

The deal will place local station content on the CNN website and CNN content on local station sites, something the companies hope will add to their respective allure. CNN could potentially tap into more local ad dollars while IB gains access to national ad spending. The deal is also expected to increase pageviews and subsequent ad rates.

The deal does not include Internet Broadcasting sites for stations owned by NBC. NBC runs its own cable news outlet in MSNBC.
