‘Fortune’ Hires ‘Slate.com’ Editor, Plans Redesign

Published on May 23, 2007 | Email this article

In addition to hiring Allan Sloan away from Newsweek earlier this month, Fortune magazine has succeeded in luring Dan Gross, from Slate.com, to its editorial group.

Other changes are taking place at the magazine, as well. Bob Perino, who took over as interim design director several months ago, has been named to the post on a permanent basis, writes the New York Post. Managing editor Andy Serwer has pointed out that the magazine hasn’t had a redesign in 10 years, and that it needs to be “clearer and a little cleaner.”
