Brand Connections Launches Active Outdoor Network

Published on May 07, 2007 | Email this article

Outdoor enthusiasts can be elusive to advertisers. This summer, New York-based Brand Connections is launching a new network of media in and around national parks, landmarks and mountain resorts that provides advertisers a way to reach that group of consumers.

The Active Outdoor (pdf) network includes billboards in lobbies of resort properties, “outdoor adventure survival packs” placed in rooms, digital plasma screens with full motion and sound in resort lobbies and at gondola stations, outdoor adventure guides, signs in the interior of tour buses and more, writes Media Life.
Advertisers can buy by the market or can purchase the network. They cannot buy individual sites. Locations include the Everglades, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite, Mt. Rushmore, Mammoth Caves, Squaw Valley, the Teton Range, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, the Great Smokey Mountains and the Redwoods, among hundreds of others. The network covers areas that attract 17 million visitors from June through September, and 120 million annually, and includes 3,000-plus media displays.
