Macy’s Snares College Students for ‘American Rag’

Published on March 26, 2007 | Email this article

Macy’s is launching a campaign designed to harness the personal interactions of college students on eight campuses across the country in order to promote the retailer’s new American Rag Brand.

The campaign, which uses RepNation’s Consumer Powered Media channel, acknowledges the increasing difficulty of reaching college students through traditional channels, RepNation writes.

Macy’s identified a network of college students that were American Rag enthusiasts and hired them as brand ambassadors to promote a Design an American Rag Print contest. The ambassadors will promote the contest around campus, encouraging their peers to design a print that suits the American Rag brand.

The goal of the campaign is to boost the American Rag brand at Macy’s department stores located in the vicinity of the eight college campuses.
