Sirius to Offer Modified Prices for Non-Adult Content

Published on March 21, 2007 | Email this article

Sirius Satellite Radio has proposed, in a license-related filing with the FCC, to provide a cost-reduction to subscribers who choose not to receive adult content on their satellite radios.

The news came out during an oversight hearing with legislators about the proposed merger between XM and Sirius, writes Broadcasting & Cable. When Senate Antitrust Subcommittee ranking minority member Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said he was concerned about protecting children from some of the “aberrant” material on satellite, Sirius CEO Mel Karmazin mentioned the proposed cost reduction.
