J&J Inks Unusual Ad Package with AMC

Published on March 06, 2007 | Email this article

In an unusual deal, Johnson & Johnson will run spots for its Visine brand during three specifically chosen movies that will air on AMC this month.

AMC went through its library to find movies in which main characters suffer from eye irritations, and Johnson & Johnson will run Visine ads during the commercial breaks, writes MediaPost.

AMC pulled together a “customized advertising package allotting presence tied to specific movies for them to promote with their brand,” said Arlene Manos, president of ad sales at Rainbow Media, which oversees AMC.

The movies are: Down & Out in Beverly Hills (Nick Nolte deals with red eye after falling into a pool); Volcano; and The Quick and the Dead.
