NBC Universal Exec Moves Highlight Digital Strategy

Published on February 16, 2007 | Email this article

In a move that underscores the speed at which TV and new media are converging, NBC’s “digital czarina” Beth Comstock will become president-integrated media, a new role that takes in oversight of ad sales and ties that function more closely to marketing and research, reports AdWeek (via MarketingVox).

The shift comes after Jeff Zucker’s promotion to president-CEO of NBC Universal last week. Zucker also appointed Jeff Gaspin as president of cable and digital content, which will bring together cable-content and cable-distribution divisions.

“The goal is to have an organization that is simple, understandable and can move quickly in this new and complicated world,” Zucker said in a statement.

paidContent’s Staci Kramer offers up snippets of an interview with Comstock and Gaspin, who explain their new roles.
