Eco-friendly Hangers Reach Consumers in their Closets

Published on February 07, 2007 | Email this article

In-Home Media is offering advertisers a way to reach American consumers in their bedrooms, bathrooms and closets.

The new EcoHangers program sees In-Home Media partnering with 35,000 dry cleaners across the country to provide environmentally friendly dry cleaning hangers to replace traditional wire hangers, writes MediaPost.

The hangers can include traditional advertising or couponing. Current advertisers include Mitchum deodorant, Phillips Van-Heusen, Dunkin’ Donuts, L’Oreal and Revlon.
The hangers are made from 100% recycled paper and help to reduce the 3.5 billion wire hangers that are tossed away every year. The campaign gives advertisers the added bonus of a green angle to their message.

Cost-per-thousand basis runs between 4 and 5 cents per program. Hangers live in customers’ closets for an average of 7.5 weeks.
