Super-Bowl Week Promo Offers Free HD Car Converter

Published on February 02, 2007 | Email this article

HD Radio technology, which got a big boost in advertising in the weeks after Christmas as several top electronic retailers promoted it in radio ads, is being used as a promotion during Super Bowl week in South Florida, where the big game is being played.

Sports Radio 770 ESPN, which in 2005 became the first radio station in the area to launch HD Radio broadcasts, is running a promotion called Score a TD with HD, according to iBiquity, the company that created HD technology. During the week leading up to the game between Chicago and Indianapolis in Miami, the station will be airing so-called Touchdown Calls during regular programming. The seventh caller to the station after each aired touchdown will receive an HD Radio car radio converter by Directed Electronics.
