Costa Eagle Broadcasting’s flagship station Power 800 has begun broadcasting its Spanish-language music format in HD Radio, making it the first Spanish-language station in New England to broadcast in iBiquity’s HD (hybrid digital) format.

The HD format will also offer Power 800’s sudience and advertisers stereo signal, and access to additional signals for multiple distinct audio services such as weather and traffic, as well data broadcasting which will provide additional information about the program, advertisers, and the station, according to Costa Eagle Broadcasting.
Costa Eagle Broadcasting CEO Pat Costa says that HD radio is a major upgrade for both Power 800’s listening audience and advertisers. “Obviously the stereo, cd-quality signal, and increased signal coverage and clarity is a huge plus for our listeners. This is the direction broadcast radio is going… Additionally this makes Power 800 an even more formidable advertising force for companies looking to tap into the expanding Spanish-language market.”

Power 800 serves the Hispanic community from Lawrence to Boston and is the most-listened-to Hispanic radio station in Massachusetts.
