CBS, with Strong, Stable Shows, Could Win Season

Published on December 04, 2006 | Email this article

ABC is number one, NBC is successfully pulling out of its slump, and Fox is preparing to take the airwaves by storm with its arrival of American Idol and 24. But CBS is quietly chugging along with strong and stable programming and could possibly win the season.

CBS is the only network that does not rely on short-term programming for ratings boost, and that stability, along with its telecast of the Super Bowl XLI on Feb. 4, could be enough to bring it a season win, writes Media Life.
“[CBS] should win [the season] among adults 25-54 and be right in the middle of the 18-49 race,” Steve Sternberg, evp of audience analysis for Magna Global USA, is quoted as saying.
