Most College Students Read College Newspapers

News about the mainstream newspaper industry is filled with woes, but for college publications, the news is good.

Research shows that about 76 percent of the country’s 6 million full-time college students read their campus newspaper at least occasionally, and big corporations and advertisers are flocking to the medium, writes the Baltimore Sun.

The article points to the fact that a subsidiary of MTV purchased College Publisher, a company that runs Web sites for about 450 college papers, as one of the best examples of the trend.
