Advertisers Reach Consumers via Holiday Cards

Published on November 06, 2006 | Email this article

Advertisers who wish to reach consumers in a different way this holiday season can try creating holiday cards, complete with their logo and other identifying message, to be given away at retail and other locations.

The cards are available for consumers to pick up at venues such as restaurants, health clubs, bookstores, cafes and bars, which they can then send to their friends, writes Media Life. The program is an extension of GoGorilla‘s free postcard program.

The greeting cards are created from a standard, 8.5 x 11 sheet which, when folded, becomes standard postcard size for mailing. They are printed on both sides in four color.

The message can focus on branding or be promotional in nature. Virgin Mobile, which used the program, included a coupon, for example.

It is available in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami and Washington, D.C.  An estimated 17 people see each card, according to the company.

Groups can be targeted by content and by location. A minimum buy is 20,000 cards, and prices range from $3,600 for 20,000, $7,000 for 40,000, $10,250 for 60,000, $14,250 for 100,000, $34,500 for 250,000 to $66,250 for 500,000.
