Yahoo Could Strike HotJobs/Newspaper Partnerships

Published on October 27, 2006 | Email this article

Yahoo is rumored to be close to striking a deal with “non-CareerBuilder” newspapers to feature their listings in HotJobs, Yahoo’s job website.

The possible HotJobs partnership could include online classifieds, local news and content packages based on general themes, like travel, paidContent reports (via MarketingVOX). The move is likely being spearheaded by Hilary Schneider, who heads Yahoo’s Marketplaces division, and is the former head of digital efforts at Knight Ridder, where she oversaw the company’s share of CareerBuilder.

The Local Onliner adds that Yahoo is negotiating with 12 newspaper companies, but as few as six might end up agreeing to the deal. Eventually, the partnership could lead to Yahoo’s integration of its content with that of the newspapers.
