MPA’s Kliger: Embrace Public Place Copies, Engaged Readership

Published on October 24, 2006 | Email this article

At the American Magazine Conference, Jack Kliger, CEO of Hachette Filipacchi Media and chairman of the Magazine Publishers of America, once again asked the industry to focus on building engaged readership over the rate base.

He also asked that publishers push for a more timely audience measurement, according to Mediaweek.

Kliger also asked publishers to embrace the use of public place copies. Advertisers won’t accept the measurement until the industry embraces it, he said. The Audit Bureau of Circulations began reporting public place copies separately from total circulation just this year.
