Corey Airport Services Inc., an Atlanta-based outdoor advertising company, accused more than 20 defendants - including the Atlanta mayor and the general manager of its airport - of colluding to give an estimated $10 million Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport advertising contract to Clear Channel Airports of Georgia, part of Clear Channel Communications. According to the The Atlanta Business Chronicle, a Georgia federal district judge ruled on Tuesday that Corey’s charges should not be dismissed and may move to trial.

Clear Channel and Barbara Fouch, godmother of one of former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson’s daughters, have held the contract for more than 20 years, and won a new bid process in 2002. Corey, which placed second, said it beat Clear Channel’s bid by about $433,000 per year. Corey alleges city officials conspired with Clear Channel to rig the process.
