Scripps Revenue Drops in August

Scripps reported today that newspaper revenue for August was down 3.8 percent to $56.6 million when compared to the same period last year, Editor & Publisher reports. Reflecting one fewer Sunday, for the month of August, local advertising was down 5.3 percent to $12 million. Classified declined 2.1 percent to $18.5 million. National slipped 0.8 percent to $3.4 million. Circulation revenue dropped 10 percent to $10 million.
