Ross-Simons Launches Two New Titles

Published on April 18, 2006 | Email this article

Following the death of its titles Gift Book Digest and Fashion Preview, the jeweler and décor provider Ross-Simons has introduced two new catalog titles, including Via - which features fashion-forward jewelry - and Global Treasures - which specializes in worldly jewelry and gifts - Multichannel Merchant writes.

Via’s audience is younger and less affluent than the traditional Ross-Simons customer - a 58-year-old female earning an average annual income of $120,000-$150,000. “We identified a new customer segment that we weren’t capturing,” said Patricia Ginesky, director of merchandising for Ross-Simons. In March, Via was sent to 1.1 million prospects and customers, primarily women 30-50 years old earning an average income of $60,000 annually.

In April, Ross-Simons has mailed 865,000 copies of Global Treasures, but plans to issue a mailing of 735,000 in mid-May. The book targets mainly current customers and features travel accessories as well as jewelry.
