Arbitron to Answer CC’s Questions with 250-Page Report

Published on May 08, 2006 | Email this article

Arbitron will deliver a report on Thursday to Clear Channel, responding to questions that Clear Channel’s electronic measurement review panel had asked about Arbitron’s portable people meter, Radio Ink reports. In an email to the panel, Arbitron CEO Steve Morris said that the company is putting “finishing touches” on a complete report - which could run as long as 250-pages -  about the new electronic measurement system.

He wrote, “The report covers areas that respond to issues and questions raised by other clients in addition to the RFP Committee and there is a high degree of urgency to move ahead with the decision process. In the days to come we will be sharing this document with all of our clients to achieve the highest possible degree of transparency and broad discussion of the issues.”

The PPM, he wrote, is the most researched and tested audience measurement system in the world and is ready to deploy today. He added that the company will “continue to enhance the capabilities of PPM system rapidly as your needs evolve and as our investments in new technologies for PPM are brought to completion.”

Clear Channel’s field of candidates in its search for a new, state of the art electronic radio audience measurement system has been narrowed to three, with Arbitron, Mediamark Research Inc., and Media Audit competing.
