His Eminence Edward Cardinal Egan and the Archdiocese of New York will create and collaborate on The Catholic Channel, the newest addition to Sirius Satellite Radio’s array of programming. Sirius announced that the 24/7-lifestyle radio channel will air nationally beginning this fall and will feature contemporary talk, music programming and live daily masses from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.

Cardinal Egan said, “The Catholic Channel represents a splendid opportunity for the Church in the United States. By using this modern medium, we will be able to communicate directly with the Catholic faithful as well as anyone of any religious faith who might be interested in what the Catholic Church is saying and doing here in New York and around the country.”

The Catholic Channel joins other Sirius religious-themed programming, including the Global Catholic Radio Network and Christian Talk, as well as Christian and Gospel-themed music channels.
