MTV Networks Targets College Pubs with Y2M Acquisition

MTV Networks will acquire Y2M: Youth Media & Marketing Networks, the parent of College Publisher, and will fold it into its MTVU operations.

College Publisher sells ads on behalf of more than 2,000 on-campus print publications and 450 online campus papers, MediaPost writes. MTV will be able to bundle those sales opportunities with avails on its own network which reaches 750 colleges. This will be a way for MTV to offer local opportunities to national advertisers.

The only other print ventures MTV Networks operates are the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. magazines.
